Friday 25th September 2026

This week our Foxes have been learning all about the story of 'Funnybones.' In Literacy, we have been practising our letter formation and being able to describe what has happened in the book of the week. In our Maths lessons, we have continued to practise sorting and matching objects together and challenging ourselves to count out the objects. We have learnt some new phonemes in Phonics this week, ('g, o, c, k') and even had a go writing the phoneme 'k.' During our Understanding the World lessons this week, we have been discussing bones and other parts of the body. We have extended our learning of the body into our PSHE lesson this week by sorting 'healthy' and 'unhealthy' foods.

In our exploring time this week, we have been doing the following:

- using our fine motor skills to make our own skeleton

- developing our imagination whilst role playing the story of Funnybones

- moulding and manipulating playdough

- reading different books all about the body

- practising our pencil control

- exploring 10s frames with compare bears
